Homestay pack on a weekend beach adventure

Homestay

Fun on the farm…

Our Homestay pack have a pretty fun life here on the farm. They get a mix of time spent in Daycare & Development, our training packs, and Kim and her partner's personal pack — plus the occasional off-site adventure including weekends away to family farms up North and in Coromandel.

Daily schedule

  • Up from 7:00 – 8:30 AM (early rises on daycare days)
  • Day spent with us and the pack on the farm
  • Bed around 6 PM
  • Half-hour toilet & stretch around 8:30 – 9 PM before bedtime
  • In warmer months the pack often stays out until bedtime

Sleeping arrangements

  • Sleep in our home-away-from-home doggy den (next door to where we live)
  • Ventilated for summer, warm in winter
  • Wireless video and sound monitors — we can hear the quietest noises
  • Crated next to each other so they sleep with the pack while having a safe private space
  • Extra time given on the first and second nights as they settle in
  • XXXL crates available for two dogs that normally sleep together
  • Bring your dog's bed (must be machine washable) and favourite toys

Off-site travels

  • Long weekends, Easter, Christmas & New Year may include a trip to our coastal farm in Coromandel or our 40-hectare farm near Whangarei
  • Jumbo Toyota Hiace Van with a professional lockable crating system
  • Full medical first-aid kit carried at all times
  • Portable kennel trailer and on-site facilities at both locations
  • Off-site adventure hikes or day adventures from time to time
